Selin the stone house Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Selin the stone house in Foini village, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — but this four-star gem completely caught me off guard. The traditional stone architecture feels like it’s been here forever, blending seamlessly into the hillside landscape of this charming Cypriot village. You know what struck me immediately? The attention to detail in preserving the authentic character while clearly investing in modern comfort. There’s free parking right on site, which might sound trivial until you’re winding through these narrow mountain roads with your rental car.
The Village Setting
Foini itself is one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret — about 30 minutes from Limassol but worlds away from the coastal hustle. I mean, this is proper Cyprus, where locals still gather in the village square and you can actually hear the silence at night. The location consistently gets a 9.6 rating from guests, and I totally get why. You’re surrounded by vineyards and traditional architecture, but still close enough to explore the Troodos Mountains or head down to the coast when you want some beach time.
The Room Experience
My room was this perfect blend of rustic charm and modern amenities — stone walls that probably have stories to tell, but with air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters in Cyprus summers). The beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-comfortable, and the bathrooms feel newly renovated without losing that traditional character. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was — thick stone walls mean you’re not hearing your neighbors, and the village location means no traffic noise disrupting your sleep.
Dining and Local Flavors
The restaurant here focuses on traditional Cypriot cuisine, and honestly, it’s some of the best I had during my entire trip. They source ingredients locally — I’m talking about vegetables from village gardens and wine from nearby vineyards. The staff actually knows the stories behind the dishes, which adds this personal touch you just don’t get at larger hotels. Breakfast includes local specialties alongside the usual options, and sitting on the terrace with mountain views while sipping proper Cypriot coffee… well, it’s hard to beat that start to your day.
Why Guests Love It
This place has a 9.8 rating for good reason — it delivers an authentic Cyprus experience without sacrificing comfort. Couples especially seem to love it here, and I can see why the romantic appeal works so well. You’re getting that intimate, away-from-it-all feeling while still having access to genuine hospitality and quality amenities. The stone house concept isn’t just marketing speak — you really do feel like you’re staying in a piece of Cyprus history that’s been lovingly maintained for modern travelers. It’s the kind of place where you actually want to spend time at the hotel, not just use it as a base for exploring.
Limassol’s hotels pair citrus groves, rooftop shisha lounges, and concierge-led hikes into Troodos trails.

I have stayed in 100+ properties in over 30 countries. The property was beautiful and very suitable for our large family. There were a ton of small touches that make this place exceptional (upscale property, jacuzzi, outdoor dining option, great accommodations), but the best part was the host. He was very responsive! And though he could not be there upon arrival, the communication was flawless and a video call was a nice touch to make sure we got settled. Great host and house!

Were booked the property for 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids). Athos, our host sent us all information in advance and shared tips upon our arrival. The house is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. It has anyone one needs for a great stay, ranging from fully equipped kitchen to toys for the kids. The location was great, in the center of the village and close to many trails. We really enjoyed our stay and strongly recommend it

A beautiful house in the mountains, far exceeded our expectations. The house was modern and fully equipped with everything, great kitchen, cozy living room, lovely view from the outdoor jacuzzi and balcony. The bedrooms were clean and the showers were perfect. Very well located for visiting the nearby waterfalls and trails. The owner was very nice and helpful.

The house is actually very accommodating for gathering with friends and relaxing. And next time I will plan better a BBQ and jacuzzi. Very nice view towards sunset also. It really has anything you need, so you don't need to bother with a lot of shopping, and very supportive host.

A spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated house. A good range of appliances, all very clean. A good number of toilets/bathrooms.

We had a wonderful holiday at Selin. Athos is a very kind, helpful and caring host. He welcomed us and gave us a tour and instructions about the house. He also recommended nearby activities.
The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable. It has a very cosy vibe and amazing interiors. The living area was very nice and we loved the fireplace. The kitchen was very well equipped, with all the essentials and even more (utensils, kitchenware, coffee machine, dishwasher, etc.). We had complimentary snacks as well.
The house had central heating, AC units and was very warm.
We also enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi, the patio with the BBQ area (very well equipped) and the amazing views from the veranda.
Overall, it was an amazing stay and it is highly recommended either for a winter or a summer escape in the mountains of Cyprus. We will definitely revisit Selin.
